O Zé arranjou-me duas caturrinhas que vou criar à mão. Ainda não têm os olhos abertos :) Uma tem 10 dias e a outra 7, nascidas em 16 e 19 deste mês respectivamente.
Zé got me two cockatiels that I'll hand raise. They still dont have their eyes open:) One of them has 10 days and the other has 7, they were born in 16 and 19 of this month.
Agora acho que já criei condições relativamente à temperatura. A incubadora de baixo apesar de dar menos calor que a de cima, mantem os passarinhos mais pequenos com a temperatura ideal. A de cima como serve para aquecer uma maior área, está no sitio correcto mas debaixo da resistencia existe uma maior concentração de calor em relação à de baixo.
Now I think I have created conditions in regarding the temperature. The incubator of the bottom despite giving less heat than the top, is keeping the smaller birds with ideal temperature. The top one heats as a larger area, is in the correct place but under the resistance there is a greater concentration of heat compared with the bottom one.
No dia 21/01, quarta-feira, trouxe mais um bebé pequenino da estação de criação, nasceu no dia 12/01 e até agora agora está a safar-se. Apanhou candidas e os pais deixaram de lhe dar comida.
In wednesday 21/01, I've brought one more baby from our aviary, he's born in 12/01 and he's making it so far. He caught candidiase and he's parents stop giving him food.
Tenho estado a dar-lhe papa de 3 em 3 horas, com medicamento duas vezes ao dia e nos intervalos água morna no bico também com medicamento. Nestes dias melhorou muito e hoje tomei coragem para tirar a primeira foto:
I have been giving him pope, 3 in 3 hours, with medicine twice a day and during breaks warm water also with medicine. In these days and today I've got courage to take the first picture:
Os bebés da Apollo 5 estão quase a deixar de ser bebés, tirando o Decas (09/COS740/155) que ainda continua bebezudo e também os dois "amarelinhos" que vieram da gaiola 56.
The Apollo 5 babies are about to stop being babies, besides Decas (09/COS740/155) that still is a big babie and the yellow ones who came from nursery 56.
As caturras que falei são estas, uma já tem dona e a outra o futuro dirá, vou colocando fotos :)
The cockatiels that I spoke about are those, one of them already has a family to go, the other the future will tell us, I'll send pictures :)
É a primeira vez que estou a criar caturras, nunca tive contacto com estas belas aves mas sinto-me confiante para o fazer e sei que tenho sempre o olhar atento do Nuno que me tem ensinado tudo o que sabe sobre o mundo dos passaros.
It is the first time that I am hand raising cocktiels, never had contact with these beautiful birds but I am confident to do so and I know that I have the wise eyes of Nuno watching my back, he has taught me everything he know about the world of birds.
